AB Running (“AB Running”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides personalised running coaching through the AB Running mobile application.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use AB Running, why it is used, how it is handled, and the choices available to you.
When you create and use an AB Running account, we may collect the following information.
This may include your name, email address, account identifier, runner profile information and app preferences.
This may include training plans, scheduled and completed running sessions, distances, durations, pace, heart-rate information, workout information, race information, personal bests, training notes and other running or fitness information you provide.
This may include coach feedback, runner notes, coaching considerations, training goals, training history, training summaries and other information exchanged or created as part of the coaching service.
If you choose to provide historical training information, this may include manually uploaded exports or files from services or devices such as Garmin, Strava or COROS.
AB Running does not currently provide automatic account syncing with Garmin, Strava or COROS. Historical files are provided manually by the user.
If you choose to provide it, AB Running may process performance testing information, laboratory reports and related information such as VO₂ max, threshold information, running economy or other running-performance measurements.
Some information contained in reports supplied by you may constitute health-related information.
We may store documents that you voluntarily upload for coaching purposes, including historical training files, previous training plans and performance or laboratory reports.
If you enable push notifications, we may process a device push-notification token so that AB Running can deliver relevant notifications to your device.
AB Running does not currently use Apple HealthKit to collect your Health app data.
We use information collected through AB Running to provide and operate the coaching service. This includes:
We do not use your running, fitness or health-related information for third-party advertising.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
AB Running uses artificial intelligence as an assistant within the coaching process.
AI may be used to help analyse approved training information, summarise historical training evidence, and propose training plans or coaching information.
Information supplied to AI systems may include relevant running, training, performance, race and coaching information where necessary to perform these functions.
AI-generated material is not intended to replace the professional judgement of your coach. Certain information, including historical analysis intended to become trusted coaching information, is subject to coach review before approval.
AB Running is designed so that missing performance information is not automatically treated as known information.
AB Running uses third-party service providers where necessary to operate the application and coaching service.
These may include:
Supabase is used for services such as authentication, database functionality, server-side functions and storage of application information and uploaded files.
Artificial intelligence service providers may be used where AI functionality is required to assist with analysis and training-plan preparation.
Apple is used to distribute the iOS application and, where enabled, support the delivery of push notifications.
We use service providers where necessary for the operation of AB Running and expect service providers handling personal information on our behalf to provide appropriate protection for that information.
We do not share personal information with third parties for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
AB Running is a personalised coaching service.
Your assigned coach may access information relevant to providing your coaching, including your training plan, completed training, notes, races, goals, historical training information, uploaded coaching documents, performance information and other information you submit for coaching purposes.
Information submitted through the My Running History process is reviewed before being treated as trusted coaching-profile information where applicable.
AB Running uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration.
Access to information within the service is restricted according to the role and purpose for which access is required.
Uploaded historical files and reports are not intended to be publicly accessible.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect information handled through AB Running.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the AB Running service, maintain appropriate coaching records, comply with applicable obligations, resolve disputes and protect the security and integrity of the service.
Information that is no longer required may be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information as described below.
AB Running provides an in-app Delete Account option.
You can access this from the Account section of your Profile.
Deleting your account permanently removes your AB Running account and associated data and cannot be undone.

You can choose whether to provide optional information such as:
Where information is optional, leaving it blank does not mean AB Running will infer that information as fact.
You can disable push-notification permission through your device settings.
You can contact us to request information about, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
AB Running is not intended to collect personal information from children without the appropriate arrangements and permissions required by applicable law.
If you believe information relating to a child has been provided to AB Running inappropriately, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy as AB Running develops or where legal, technical or operational requirements change.
When we make material changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this Privacy Policy and provide additional notice where appropriate.
